Nano-needling or microneedling?
Nano-needling focuses on the surface of your skin and product absorption. Microneedling works with fine needles to encourage your skin’s repair response and collagen production.
The names sound similar, so it’s easy to mix them up. When you’re deciding between them, we suggest starting with one question: what would you most like your facial to help with? A fresh, hydrated-looking finish and a plan for uneven texture call for different conversations.
Let’s talk about that glass-skin glow
We love the idea of skin that looks fresh and feels comfortable. But the perfectly smooth finish you see on your phone can set a very high bar. Real skin has pores, fine lines and texture, even when it’s well cared for.
Tell us what “glowing skin” means to you. Perhaps your makeup has been sitting unevenly, your skin feels dry, or you’d like to work on old acne marks. You don’t need to know the treatment name before you get in touch. That’s something we can talk through together.

How we’d approach the choice
You’d like a freshen-up
Nano-needling is worth discussing if your priority is a surface-focused facial and a fresher-looking finish. It uses small nano tips, and its purpose differs from the deeper response we aim for with microneedling. Let us know if your skin has been feeling sensitive, too.
If peach fuzz and makeup application are your main concerns, take a look at our dermaplaning guide. It may be a more useful starting point for what you have in mind.
You want to work on texture over time
Microneedling may help soften the appearance of some acne scars, fine lines and uneven texture. We think it’s best approached with patience: changes develop gradually, results vary, and you may need a series of treatments. There’s more on this in our guide to microneedling and collagen.
You have a wedding, holiday or special occasion coming up
Tell us the date before you book. Microneedling can leave your skin temporarily red, tender or flaky, so leave room for recovery before makeup, photographs or holiday plans. Your skin’s response will help guide the timing.
A quick chat before your appointment
Let us know about your skincare products, medication, recent treatments and any trouble you’ve had with healing. If you have an infection, inflamed skin or a history of raised scars, we may need to postpone treatment or ask you to get medical advice first.
Microneedling has risks, including infection and changes in skin colour, which is why suitability and aftercare matter. We’ll talk through what to expect and when to return to your usual makeup and skincare. Please ask if anything is unclear; feeling comfortable with your treatment is part of the appointment.
A few questions you might have
Which one gives the best results?
It depends on your goal. A treatment that suits your skin and schedule is a better starting point than choosing the most intensive option.
Can I choose the Glow Duo for my first facial?
You’re welcome to enquire. Tell us a little about your skin and we’ll discuss whether the combination is suitable before you book.
Do I need to decide before messaging?
No. Send us your main concern and preferred dates, and we can help you choose from there.
